"Six German volunteers recently arrived in the island. Picture above from left are: (standing) Annegret Reker graduate dentist, Wolfgang Tscheu, engineer, Ursula Meuller, Home Economics teacher, Juergen Kneese, Master in Car Mechanics, (sitting) Han-Georg Eckert, radio and TV technician, and Bernd Hoffmann, ecologist and landscape architect. Jamaica is the only Caribbean island where the German Volunteer Service (GVS) has been working since 1967."
