"These four German volunteers who arrived in the island recently now brings to 34 the number of German volunteers here. The men did a three- month course in Germany and will do further four-weeks orientation programme before taking up their various assignments. The German volunteer service has been in operation in Jamaica since 1967 and is the only Caribbean island involved in the programme."
