Title

Sitting on a gold mine

Description

"Minister of State for Tourism, Dr. Marco Brown (centre), listens with keen interest to details of a final report presented to him by a team of German technical experts who were commissioned by the government to conduct an extensive survey on the mineral springs in Jamaica.
They are from left Professor Hans Gockel, a Chemical Specialist, and Professor Jaap Pothast, Project Supervisor. The report revealed that Jamaica was actually "sitting on a gold mine" based on the high quality of the thermal, mineral and radioactive properties of the waters. Follow-up action is now underway with a view to developing the springs and two established spot into viable attractions of an international standard."
